TrailBlazia
Inspired by "Trailblazer"
the innovator who blazes a trail to guide others. TrailBlazia weaves through NYP’s enchanted forest with a vibrancy to uplift and motivate our student community.
In collaboration with SDAR and other CCA executives, the vibrant world of TrailBlazia was brought to life at the NYP Open House 2024. As the overall in-charge (OIC) representative of my CCA in the NYP 2024 Open House Planning Committee, I played a key role in the design, conceptualization and execution of TrailBlazia.
Our club was tasked with designing and transforming the main area of T-Junction. We drew our inspiration from numerous adventure guild tavern designs and I led the team in designing, crafting and prop-making. Together with my team, we scouted for materials and brought the vision to life in the most sustainable way possible, based off design specifications I created for various elements, which included our food display, fireplace, barrels, mushrooms and more. In addition to designing and getting the space ready for the big event day, we also had to plan activities for prospective students to participate in during the event day itself and train our facilitators on those activities as well.
From planning to materials scouting, logistical and manpower considerations, to final assembly of props and execution of the event, this project truly honed my skills in resource management and sustainable designing. Working closely with not only our club committee members, but other CCA executives, staff and student volunteers as well, taking on this project has also allowed me to develop strong and effective communication skills and teamwork.
